My innovation idea in classroom 

Description 

During the teaching practice, I noticed some issues in the classroom. One of these issues is the lack of student’s attention to the teacher during the class. Students’ behavior was not satisfactory as they were talking with each other a lot and that made them away from the teacher and her teaching. 

Another issue is that the teacher cannot contact with parents  as the only using emails . Here the school itself prevents using WhatsApp with students’ parents and that created another problem

Skinner and behavior

Skinner focused on observing behavior  where through observing behavior , there is a great understanding for the causes of that behavior  and its reasons and then that helps in finding suitable solutions (Mcleod, 2015).

Steps to solve the problem

I followed Kotter’s 8 Step as follow:

 

1.Observing students during the class

2.Observing the teacher to check the strategies used with students

3.Talked with the EMT to check why she did not contact with parents .

4.The teacher showed that using WhatsApp is forbidden .

5.I thought of the use of class Dojo

The difficulties that I faced during solving the problem. 

 

The teacher did not know how to use class Dojo .

Students do not understand class Dojo .

It takes time to apply the solution

Action

Me and my colleague (Safeya), did a workshop about classdojo, and the workshop still on going.

Learning Trip 1

One day I planned with Arabic Teacher to take our students to trip in Zayed Central Library, so on 9 of October, we went their with KG 1 section 1 and 2. Because they have a workshop about reading and library rules, they taught them how to hold a book and how to start reading. I didn't have enough time to take some pictures because I was observing the students.

Learning Trip 2

On 22 of October me and my friend (Safeya) took our students to the learning trip to the Al Zayediya School, we wear learning about 5 senses, and healthy food. So they did an event for us, and they did some activities about 5 senses, and sorting fast food with healthy food.

Others

Justification:

Some of the schools gave me a certificate after teaching practice, it's a way to appreciate my achievement at school. Also my mentors and my lovely students gave me some beautiful note to thank me for working hard. 

Description: 

After these beautiful things, I felt comfortable because they show me that I did my work in a perfect way, and I left a good impact for these students.

Justification:

on 23 April. 2018 I had a certificate of attendance form HCT, SHJ. I went there because I want to see action research on graduate students so I can learn more from it, and it might expand my ideas for my action research. 

Description: 

I saw some of graduate students presentation, also I created a poster for my action research which is about visual art, and I post it their.
